FAQs and T&CS

  • What do Shade Spec offer?
    Shade Spec offers custom made external and internal shading solutions. Our range includes folding arm awnings, roof systems, external and internal blinds, shutters and conservatory awnings. We offer supply and fully installed products. If you can't see what you're looking for please reach out, we can advise you with possible options to meet your specifications.
  • What is the warranty on all your products?
    We offer a 5 year warranty on all our Helioscreen products. Other products have lesser warranties - sales staff will let you know what the warranty will be according to product you are interested in. After an inspection of the defect and it's determined a manufacturing fault, Shade Spec will repair or replace the product based on the agreed assessment.
  • What is the turnaround time for your products?
    It can vary depending on the manufacturer, product and time of year. However, we generally work on the time frame 6 - 8 weeks. At the time of quotation the sales team can give you a more specific time frame.
  • If I have an existing awning/structure can you dispose of it?
    Yes we can. This will be an added cost that can be itemised on your quotation.
  • Where can I see your products?
    You can find technical specifications on the systems we offer, brochures and images on our website and socials. Once you have an idea of the product(s) your looking for Shade Spec can help assess your site and walk you through the product and materials suited to your needs. Our Sales team are mobile showrooms, they will have have fabric samples, brochures, profiles and hardware with them so clients will have a good understanding of the products. We can also meet you at the manufacturers showroom(s) to show you more of the systems you have in mind.
  • Do I need an electrician?
    If you have chosen products that are motorised we can provide electrical or if you have your own preferred electrician, that is fine as well.
  • How do I accept the quote and what are your payment terms?
    After accepting the quote (whereby the quote is emailed to you or written via our invoice book) please call 0450492804 to proceed: 1. 50% deposit is required to commence manufacturing. 2. An additional 30% payment is due when product is ready to install and we will then organise an installation date with you. 3. The final 20% payment is due on the day of completion (7 days payment terms). 4. Please note your Quote # in your payment method 5. Send remittance to accounts@shadespec.com.au 6. Our Terms and Conditions come into effect when the quote is accepted. (These are below). *Please note Visa & Mastercard will incur a 2.2% surcharge, AMEX 2.2% *Confirmed installation dates may be change due to unforeseen weather.
  • What are your terms and conditions?
    When you accept our quote and engage the services of Shade Spec Pty Ltd, you also accept the Shade Spec's Terms and Conditions. Please find a PDF attached below.
  • What's the advice for awning care and maintenance?
    Retractable awnings should be retracted if high winds or storms are anticipated and under no circumstances should water be allowed to pool on the awning. Provided the awning is installed with a minimum 14 degree angle, your awning will shed water. The fabric has a UV Teflon coating which repels water and dirt. Folding arm awnings are designed to be used as a sun shelter in calm conditions and light rain. Some awnings and roof systems have a higher wind rating such as Helioscreen Cassette awning. Awnings generally can handle some wind however when the wind picks up the fabric will act like a sail and can damage arms and how the awing is fixed to your premises.
